JobMarketHealth.com is operated by Local Focus Media LLC. This policy describes how information is handled on this website. It does not cover other websites or products, including any site you reach through a link from here.
What this site does not do
- It does not ask you to upload a resume or create a candidate profile. There is no place on this site to do either.
- It does not offer public account registration or saved candidate profiles. Staff accounts are issued by the owner for restricted research and editorial tools.
- It does not run advertising on the site, and it does not install advertising or marketing trackers.
- It does not sell personal information, and it does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no such transfer in the current implementation.
Information you provide voluntarily
If you send a message through the form on the contact page, we receive your email address, the topic you choose, your message, and any page link you include. We use it only to read and respond to you, to investigate a possible correction, and to keep a record of the correspondence. The message is delivered to our editorial inbox by our hosting platform's email service; it is not published or stored in a public database. To limit spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical signals from your browser to tell people from automated traffic. We also keep temporary spam-prevention counters keyed by a scrambled (keyed hash) value derived from your network address and email address. These counters are pseudonymous rather than anonymous; no raw IP address is stored in them, and they are deleted automatically within about a day by an hourly cleanup. Links you submit are shown as text and are never visited automatically.
Restricted staff accounts
Restricted staff access processes email addresses, account identifiers, login credentials, session tokens, permissions and multi-factor authentication information through our authentication and database service providers. Security and editorial audit records include the acting account identifier, time, action, permission-check outcome and records of review and publication decisions. We use this information to administer access, protect the research tools and maintain accountability for editorial decisions. Staff session information is stored in the staff member's browser to maintain sign-in.
Information processed automatically by our infrastructure
Like nearly all websites, the hosting and content-delivery infrastructure that serves these pages processes basic technical request data in order to deliver pages, keep the site available, and defend against abuse. That can include:
- IP address and general network information
- Browser type, device type, operating system, and language
- Date and time of the request
- The page or file requested, the response status, and the referring URL if sent
These are standard server and security logs generated by the hosting layer. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from them.
Usage analytics (optional, with your consent)
Our hosting platform provides aggregate usage analytics for this site. This measurement is optional and off by default: on your first visit we show a cookie banner, and no analytics page view is reported and no analytics cookie is set unless you choose “Accept optional cookies”. If you accept, a small first-party script reports each page view to our hosting platform. The reported information is limited to:
- The page path and full URL of the page viewed, and the time of the view
- The referring URL, when your browser sends one
- Your browser user-agent string and language setting, which indicate device category
- An approximate country, derived from your browser time-zone setting
- A short-lived session identifier, so that several page views in one visit can be counted as a single session
We use this only in aggregate, to see how many people visit, which pages and sections are read, roughly where visitors come from, what kind of device they use, and simple session and bounce measures. It is not individualized profiling. We do not use it to identify you, to build a profile about you, to follow you across other websites, or to target advertising, and this measurement data is not sold or shared for advertising.
Cookies, local storage, and your choices
This site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and it does not load advertising or marketing tags. Strictly necessary items are always active: a hosting security cookie and a hosting deployment cookie used to serve and protect the site, a small scroll-position value in your browser session storage so that navigation feels normal, and a local-storage entry that remembers your cookie choice so the banner does not reappear on every page. Restricted staff tools also use browser storage for authentication sessions; that storage supports staff sign-in and is separate from optional analytics.
The only optional cookie is the analytics session cookie described above. It is first-party, contains only a random session identifier, expires after about thirty minutes of inactivity, and is set only after you accept. If you reject optional cookies, analytics stays disabled and every page works normally.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer. When you withdraw consent, further analytics reporting stops and we delete the analytics session identifier from this site’s cookies and storage in your browser. Page views already reported before you withdrew are not affected. Clearing your browser’s site data also resets your choice, and the banner will appear again.
Service providers
We rely on third parties for website hosting, content delivery, security, email delivery of contact messages, spam protection on the contact form (Cloudflare Turnstile), and the aggregate usage analytics described above. Authentication and database providers also process restricted staff-account information and access and editorial audit records. Those providers process technical request data on our behalf in order to run and measure the site. We also request published labor-market statistics from our own data service; that request is made by our server, not by your browser, and it does not carry your personal information.
Why information is processed
- To deliver the pages and files you request
- To keep the site secure, available, and free of abuse
- To diagnose technical errors
- To measure, in aggregate, how many people read the site and which pages and sections they use
- To respond to messages and corrections you send us
- To administer restricted staff access and retain security and editorial audit records
- To meet legal obligations or respond to lawful requests
Retention
Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security, reliability, and troubleshooting, and are then discarded or overwritten under our providers' ordinary retention practices. Correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle the matter and to maintain a record of corrections. Staff account records support access administration. Security and editorial audit records are retained to preserve access and publication history and may remain after a staff account is removed.
Security
Pages are served over encrypted connections, and access to any operational systems is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where processing happens
The site is operated from the United States, and information is processed in the United States and in other locations where our infrastructure providers operate. If you visit from outside the United States, you are sending information to a United States operator.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your privacy requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information about you, or to limit certain processing. This may include correspondence, infrastructure records or restricted staff-account information. Send a request through the contact page, and we will respond as required by applicable law. Please tell us enough to locate any record, and understand that we may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. When we do, the effective date above changes. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will describe it on this page rather than replacing it silently.
On October 12, 2026, we clarified how restricted staff accounts, session storage, and security and editorial audit records are handled.
